About

Hello — I'm KGR Gokul, a photographer based in Tamil Nadu, in the south of India. I trained as an engineer, but photography was always the thing I loved most. It was never an accident or a fallback — it was a choice I made with my whole heart, and following it has shaped everything since.

Travel gave that love its direction. Every new place gave me a reason to look more carefully — to wait for the fog to lift off a hillside, for a stranger's glance, for the moment a landscape quietly opens up. The engineer in me still loves the craft of it; the traveller in me just wants to keep chasing the light.

These days I move between the road and home ground — the mountains and coastlines I travel to, and the streets, festivals and everyday moments closer to home. I photograph landscapes for their stillness and people for their stories, and I try to bring both back honestly, so each frame carries the feeling of being there.

If you've found your way here, thank you for looking. Whether it's a far-off place or a quiet afternoon at home, my hope is a simple one — to make images worth stopping for, and to share a little of the journey with you.

Photography is how I slow the world down. I love to travel, to sit with a place until it shows me something true, and to come home with a story worth telling.
